COAT OF SMILES, parody art of iconic symbols. A duck's hat, a mouse's ears and a smiling yellow button. Three iconic things brought together in one artwork.

Harald Siepermann (1962 - 2013)

A couple of weeks ago I posted on my facebook timeline that to me Harald Siepermann is one of the most gifted character designers on this very planet. I added this little collection of some of my favorite pieces, done by Harald.

We had great and fun periodical gatherings together, like at CTNX, Pixel Conference or Pictoplasma. I planned to pay Harald a visit in Hamburg near soon.

Not any more. Harald died last Saturday.

  2. He has been a rolemodel to me for over 20 years now. I'm proud to own a sketch of the mole Henk he did. I pinned the sketches from the A.J. Kwak covers over my desk as an inspiration. I always had him in mind, when I visited the Paperwalker blog. I think that's a big compliment.

  3. Hello Florian,
My name is Maurilio "TAVO" and I'm a cartoonist.
Every time I visit your blog because I really like your work, congratulations!

I would like to ask you for help and I hope you can help me:
I'd like to know how you managed to put some of your drawings in the side columns of the blog because I would like to do the same, but the computer is not my field ...
If it is too complicated to explain, do not worry: I'll find something in the net!
And i have another question: can i put in my blog the link to your blog?

Thank you for your help and good work!
    Tavo

P.s.: my blog is www.iltavo.blogspot.com… if you should have the curiosity to see my works...
